bio

Rosanne Bennett is an artist currently based in West Kelowna, BC. Rosanne’s recent works have merged both landscape, memory and a love/hate relationship with nostalgia. Rosanne’s drawn and minimal colour works appear largely on paper, while her influences are informed by post WW2 abstract painting and the history of the painted Canadian landscape. Over the past decade her work has involved many points of interest including the found detritus from her farm-life, diagrams sourced from vintage nursing manuals, and the evolving visual affects of mining, highways and logging on land. She holds a BFA from Emily Carr University 1994, and a Diploma in Art History from UBC 2012.
